She has campaigned for immigrant rights; quality education; and social, economic and racial justice with organizations including ACORN, New York Civic Participation Project, and American Jewish World Service. She has taught at the college level in addition to teaching in community education. Tara is passionate about Hand in Hand’s mission to provide passionate people with effective opportunities to take meaningful action in support of targeted communities. As a recent transplant to Maine, she is a novice snow shoer and aspiring bird watcher. She lives with her partner and daughter.
