As #BlackHistoryMonth comes to an end, we're thinking about how we are showing up in this moment to celebrate and honor the Black domestic workers– this month, and every month– who paved the way for this movement, and those who are continuing to lead the way...

Black domestic workers have always been at the forefront of the fight for dignity and justice—organizing for fair wages, safety, and recognition in a system built on exclusion and exploitation. Alongside them, domestic employers committed to equity have played a crucial role in advancing fair labor standards and respecting the essential work of caregiving. Throughout history, our movement has been defined by power, resistance, and progress, driven by the efforts of Black women and their allies.

At Hand in Hand, we work to build a future where domestic work is respected by educating employers to provide fair wages, safe conditions, and dignity. Together, we are strengthening a movement led by Black women that champions justice and progress for all.

Workers and employers are standing together to fight for racial and economic justice, with Black domestic workers leading the way toward a fairer future.

This Black History Month, we honor Black caregivers, domestic workers, and the employers who are committed to justice and dignity for all.
