Last week, dozens of IHSS users and caregivers spent practically all day in Sacramento in the hopes of testifying in front of the Health & Huma Services subcommitte and deliver our message: Protect IHSS!

While some were able to speak, others did not — but still had much to say.

Washington State just passed a statewide Domestic Workers Bill of Rights (yay!), but did you know that domestic workers in Seattle already have protections?

The Seattle Domestic Workers Ordinance (DWO) provides domestic workers – nannies, house cleaners, home attendants – with the right to an uninterrupted meal period and rest breaks.

Check out what you need to know about meal and rest breaks for any domestic worker you employ in your home.
