As the wildfires in Los Angeles continue to burn, and as the city rebuilds, we will continue to share resources (see our Story Highlight on LA Wildfires on Instagram). We grieve with Angelinos and all those affected 💜

From our partners at the National Domestic Workers Alliance how to support domestic workers who have been impacted:

The devastating Los Angeles wildfires have leveled entire communities, taking with them homes, schools, churches, and the ability to work for many. While domestic and care workers are central to our communities, during times of crisis they are often the first to lose income and some of the last to receive aid.

As LA begins to rebuild, domestic and care workers are likely to face some of the greatest challenges as workers who are often among the hardest hit, while lacking access to traditional forms of relief in times of crisis: loss of wages, loss of care services that enable them to take care of their families, and unsafe working conditions as they return to work. You can support workers through our affiliates in Los Angeles, Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights , IDEPSCA and Pilipino Workers Center (PWC) with vital relief, including:

- Emergency financial assistance for housing, food, and medical care.
- Basic supplies to help domestic workers and their families rebuild their lives.
- Long-term recovery support to ensure they can get back on their feet.

We are looking forward to being back for the 2nd Annual “Disability Justice is Beloved Community” gathering NEXT Saturday, January 18th, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Ed Roberts Campus in Berkeley.

“Disability Justice is Beloved Community” is brought to you by Disability Justice Culture Club, Disability Justice League - Bay Area , PEACE Out Loud , Ability Now, Anti Police-Terror Project , Hand in Hand, Senior and Disability Action , and Center for Independent Living - Berkeley.
This gathering of arts, culture, and political organizing will feature multi-cultural drumming, an open mic/variety show, bodyworkers, disabled artists and vendors, music, food, an art build for Reclaim MLK’s Radical Legacy March, short film screenings, and more.
