If you receive home care, you're also an employer. Whether through IHSS or privately, that means a task list, a paycheck, legal obligations, and a working relationship to manage — all while navigating a benefits system that's shifting under your feet.

Join us and our partners at the World Institute on Disability for a free two-hour training covering both sides of the equation:

• First Hour: DB101 California — the free, plain-language site that explains state benefit programs and lets you run your own numbers before you decide. We'll walk through it live.

• Second Hour: My Home is Someone's Workplace — the employer side: defining the work, knowing what the law requires, and building communication that keeps a good worker in the job.

With Medi-Cal budget pressure and federal changes under H.R. 1, home care recipients are being asked to make big decisions with incomplete information. Come get practical footing on both fronts — and tools you can use long after the session ends.

When: Tuesday, September 15th from 1 - 3pm PT
Where: Zoom

Registered! I need this!!!

“Childcare lets parents go to work, home care lets people live with dignity, and we, the people who do that work, should be able to retire from it one day… Domestic workers are more than our labor. We are neighbors, parents, and grandparents.”

#LaborDay may have passed, but this reminder from National Domestic Workers Alliance member and childcare worker Cathy Hooker is one we should always carry with us. We need to invest in care and care workers as a nation, and we need to do so NOW! 💪 #CareCantWait
